How Do I Find My MAC Address on iPhone, iPad, or Mac

Last updated on 05 Aug, 2026

On iPhone or iPad

  1. Go to Settings > General > About.

  2. Scroll down to Wi-Fi Address β€” this is your device's MAC address.

⚠️ Important: Since iOS 14, Apple uses a different, randomized MAC address for each Wi-Fi network by default ("Private Wi-Fi Address"). If our team is using your MAC address to allow your device onto our network, the address may change if this setting is toggled or if you rejoin the network. To find the MAC address our network actually sees, go to Settings > Wi-Fi, tap the (i) next to the Downtown Works network, and check the address listed there β€” or disable Private Wi-Fi Address for that specific network if instructed by our support team.

On Mac

  1. Click the Apple menu, then System Settings > Wi-Fi.

  2. Click Details next to your active connection (or the network name).

  3. Look for Wi-Fi Address β€” this is your MAC address.

Alternatively, using Terminal:

  1. Open Terminal (Applications > Utilities > Terminal).

  2. Type ifconfig en0 (or en1 if you have a separate wireless interface) and press Enter.

  3. Find the value labeled ether β€” this is your MAC address.
